Obituary from local paper:
James Edwin (Ed) Dayman died at his home in Windthorst, Sunday, September 10th. he had shown no signs of serious illness and death was unexpected.
Mr. Dayman was born on May 13, 1886 in Exeter, Ontario, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Humphrey Dayman. He came when a child with his parents to the Whitewood District. In 1913 he married Lorinda Lovina Dawson. They moved to Windthorst District in 1928 to farm south-east of town, retiring to live in Windthorst in 1986.
Known to all in the community as “Ed,” he and Mrs Dayman were popular people. Ed shared with his wife an interest in social activities and they took part in, and enjoyed gatherings of young people. Ed was always interested in sports, and although of a gentle nature, he was a firm supporter of the home teams. Civically, he was a trustee of the Dalzell School District for a long time.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Laurence, Keith and Perry, all of Corning, Sask., one daughter, Mrs. Wesley (Grace) Dew of Windthorst, and twelve children and two great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren predeceased him: Thomas Dayman in 1966 and Culver Dayman in 1971.
The funeral was on September 13th. The service was in Windthorst United Church with the Rev. Lowell Hubbard officiating. Interment was in Windthorst Cemetery and pallbearers wiere Horace Glydon, Jim Hillhouse, Joe Bates, Bas McInnis, Jack Smalleyand Tom Dovell.
Arrangement were by Tubman Funeral directors, Wolseley.
